Day 1: We reached Manali around 12pm, got fresh and finished our lunch and bought some essential things for the tour and rented a car to go to Dhundi. Dhundi is around 20km from Manali and 8km from Solan Valley. Around 2:30pm we left Manali for Dhundi, we took permission to allow the car upto Dhundi, otherwise we needed to walk upto Dhundi. Around 4pm we reached Dhundi and today we camp at Dhundi.
Day 2: Around 7am we start packing the camp and start trekking around 8am on the right side of the river. After 1km one small water resource met the river, when we went to cross the river I fell into the river. But now my body was heated so I did not change my dress, and after some time we crossed the river through a wooden bridge.
We met some girls with their young mothers around 55 years old, who came from West Bengal. They are very happy to see the place where Rishi Vyas used to take a bath. Again we star trek around 1pm. We finished our lunch at the same time snow started. Around 2:30pm we reached Bakhartaaj, today this is our destination. Next day our target is to visit the Beas Kund and return to the camp then pack the camp and return to Dhundi. So we finished our dinner and went to sleep early.
Day 3: At 6am we were ready for the trek, but it was too cold. Around 6:30 am we started our trek. At the same time the sun was rising on the top of Hanuman Tibba and other peaks. All the peaks were golden in color, so first we enjoyed the sunrise, then started trekking. After 500miter, there were so many big stones on the route, so trekking was very difficult. Today we took only one bag, which I carried. We took only dry fruits and snacks for the tour and water bottles. After 1km we needed to climb around a 60 degree hill, after that we trekked through the big stone area, which was very tough. And also we do not go with local guides, so sometimes we choose some tough route, this time the river is far away from us.
After crossing this area again we saw the river and so many water resources meet, it was a very good view. As per my guess, we were about to reach the place, but could not find it. One dog was with us, that is going forward, so we thought maybe the target place is not here. Actually dogs help us on trekking time. This time we went forward, but could not find the Lake. My friends took a rest and I told them that I am going forward, If I find out. But sometimes I return to the place where they rested, then they tell me to return.
But I thought only one thing: that we were about to reach the place, but could not find out the place, and again back to that place where I guess the place. Then I told my friend that I am going to the top of our right hand side peak toward Hanuman tibba. But they did not agree, but when I went around 200miter, I saw some water coming from the top. After 50 meter I read the place.
What a beautiful place. Now I can understand why the old ladies were very happy to see the place, we stay here sometimes. Now it's time to return. We were returning a little bit faster, when we went down, one big team was going to the lake. Their guide told us if they can reach the lake then fine otherwise return. When we asked them where to stay, they told us to return to Solan Valley. So we understand they could not visit the place, because it was too late and also maximum people of the team were not habituated to trek.
So many boys and girls asked us how many times we needed to reach the lake. When we replied, they started returning with us. Some people visit our camp side, we make Maggi, coffee and share with them. And told them, they can start trekking otherwise they would be late.
We packed our camp and after 1hour, around 3pm we started returning, and before Dhundi we overtaken that team. We reached Dhundi around 5pm, we did not have sufficient food to stay at night, so we made plans to return to Solan Valley. But could not get any car, so we started to walk to return to Solan. So many people also start to return with us. But after some time their car came and they returned by car.
We reached Solan around 7:30 pm at Solan Valley, but it was a very bad experience. One road walk was very tough and also after 24km treks on that day. We had no energy for camping, so we took the car and returned to Manali and took the Hotel.
Day 4: We took a rest at Manali, in the evening we took a bus to return to Delhi.
