Day 1. Haridwar - Devprayag - Lohajang

  • Reach very early morning at Haridwar/Rishikesh.
  • You can choose the Haldwani almora road. This is a short distance.
  • You can visit from Haridwar and can return from Haldwani.
  • Some buses or shared cars started their journey around 5-6 am from Rishikesh to Lohajang.
  • Or rent a car and start Journey at 5-6 am.
  • The total distance is around 280km, it takes around 10 hour to reach.
  • Reached Devprayag at 9am.
  • Devprayag is the meeting point of Badrinath and Alokananda river, which is around 95km from Haridwar.
  • Dhara devi temple is situated into the Alokananda river. you can visit there.
  • Next point is Rudrapryag, is the meeting point of Alokananda and Mandakini River, which is around 70km From Devprayag.
  • After that the next point is Karnaprayag. This is the meeting point of Alokananda and Pindar river, which is 33km.
  • Another 85 km needs to drive to reach Lohajaung.
  • Reach Lohajang around 4pm.
  • Hotels are available to stay. And also there is an option to stay into tent, is very low price.
  • If you have a camping arrangement, then find a place to camp. 
  • From next morning start trekking so buy necessary things from here. This is the last point to get shops.

Day 2. Lohajung - Behkaltal 8km

  • Start trekking around 9am.
  • After the 50 meter trekking, the starting point on the right side has a temple.
  • After 2km have a rest point, where there are shops, where you get maggi and snax, tea etc. 
  • After this point starts dense forest, like oac.
  • After 1km you will get a small bridge, under the bridge will get small waterfalls.
  • You get one more shop after another 2km.
  • Around 2-3 pm reach Behakaltal.
  • People used to camp here.
  • After another 500m the Behakaltal situated. 

Day 3. Behakaltal - brahmatal

  • Today you have to trek around 7km, take around 5-6 hour.
  • Start trekking around 9am.
  • In winter the behkaltal becomes a frozen lake.
  • First 2km you will get dense forest.
  • At winter session you will get snow from Behakaltal.
  • The brahmatal base camp is another 500m after the brahmatal.
  • This is a very beautiful place, just sit beside the lake and enjoy.
  • If you reached 12-1pm, then go to the top of this hill to view 360 degree view. 
  • Nandadevi, Trishul should be near to you.

Day 4. Brahmatal -Lohajaung

  • There are two options to return.
  • One is the same route. Second is after some times don’t take right turn towards Behakaltal.
  • Reach Behakaltal and rent a hotel or camping.
  • If the returning car is still not rented, then ask local people how you can return. 
  • If you feel public transport is not possible then rent a car for Haldwani. Haldwani is nearest than Haridwar.

Day 5. Lohajung - Haldwani

  • Started returning around 6am.
  • Around 8-8:30 am I reached Kausani and take breakfast.
  • Around 10:30 crossed Almora.
  • Around 12:30-1pm reached Haldwani.
  • Take a bus or train to return to your destination.
  • For Train go to Kathgodam, which is 7 km before Haldwani.
