Kareri Lake Trek

Day 1: Dharamshala - Kareri Village -Liyoti
- Reach Dharamshala in the early morning.
- Rent and drive car for Kareri Village.
- Distance of Kareri Village is around 25km, and around 1:30-2 hours needed.
- Nowadays you can go another 2 km towards Kareri Lake by car.
- Leave care near a bridge.
- Before the bridge starts on the right hand, your trekking route point starts.
- This is a very dense forest area.
- Try to go together, maybe Leopard is waiting for welceremony.
- After 2-3km on the right side, have an area for camp in between the river. I can say it can be a memorable experience for you. Both side the sound of the river and surrounding area is dense forest.
- Another 3-4 km you have to trek to reach Liyoti.
- Liyoti is also situated near the river, which started from Kareri Lake.
Day 2: Liyoti - Kareri Lake.
- Around 8 -9 am start trek toward Kareri Lake.
- Liyoti to Kareri Lake is around 7km, you need around 4-5 hours trek.
- Camp near Kareri Lake.
- It is a very beautiful lake.
- There is a temple of Kareri Mata.
- On the opposite side of the temple is a way to cross the Dhauladhar Range.
- If you have time then go to the top of the peak, same side of the Kareri Mata Temple.
- From the top of the peak you can get a 360 degree view.
- Try back to camp before sunset. Or come together not alone.
Day 3: Kareri lake - Liyoti - Kareri Village - Dharamshala / Macloud gaunj
- If your return bus is from Macloud Gaunj, then try to return journey a little bit early around 7-8 am. Then you should get options to explore food and markets at Macloud Gaunj.
- Then you can reach that bridge around 12pm to 1pm.
- Take a small bath for freshness near the bridge.
- Then back to kareri village.
- Rent a car or before starting your trekking book car for returning.
